Not sure where to begin?

Bring the messy version.

If the books are behind, the reporting is unclear or tax deadlines are getting close, the first step is simply to establish what is true and what needs attention.

Start with a diagnostic conversation

The outcome

Less time reconstructing the past. More confidence planning what is next.

Good financial work should change how a business operates—not only produce a filing at the end of the year.

01

Know where you stand

Current, reconciled information replaces assumptions and scattered spreadsheets.

02

See issues earlier

Cash pressure, tax exposure and reporting gaps surface while there is still time to act.

03

Make the next call

Forecasts and plain-language context support hiring, investment, financing and owner decisions.

How it works

A clear path from first conversation to steady rhythm.

No oversized process for its own sake. The workflow is structured enough to be reliable and practical enough to fit the way you operate.

  1. 01

    Understand

We start with what is happening now, where the pressure is and what a useful outcome would look like.

  2. 02

    Scope

You receive a written service scope, responsibilities, timing and fee structure before work begins.

  3. 03

    Set up

Information requests, access and the working cadence are organized in one secure client workflow.

  4. 04

    Deliver & improve

The work gets done, questions are surfaced early and the process becomes stronger over time.

A strong fit

For people who want their financial work to be useful—not merely finished.

Business

Owner-managed companies

You want better books, clearer reporting and advice that connects tax with the whole business.

Growth

Teams between bookkeeper and CFO

Your complexity has outgrown the current setup, but a full-time senior finance hire is not the next move.

Personal

Individuals with more moving parts

You have business, self-employment, investment, rental or other tax considerations that deserve a careful review.

Clear scope. Clean billing. No surprise work.

01

Defined before delivery. The service scope, responsibilities and fee approach are documented before the engagement starts.

02

Matched to the work. Monthly services can use recurring billing; project and tax work can be quoted by scope or stage.

03

Easy to follow. CAD invoices show the work, applicable taxes, amount due and secure payment instructions.

Questions

Useful answers before we talk.

Do you work only with businesses?

No. Jamieson CPA serves owner-managed businesses and individuals. Personal tax work is available, including filings with self-employment, rental, investment or owner-manager considerations.

Can I hire you as a controller or CFO without changing my bookkeeper?

Often, yes. Fractional work can add oversight, reporting, planning and decision support around an existing bookkeeper or internal team. The first conversation determines where responsibilities should sit.

How are fees set?

Fees depend on scope, volume, complexity, condition of records and timing. Ongoing work is generally suited to a defined recurring scope; tax and cleanup projects are quoted once the work can be assessed. No fee is final until it is documented and accepted.

Do you provide compilation, review or audit engagements?

No. Jamieson CPA does not currently offer compilation engagements, reviews, audits or other assurance services. Tax, bookkeeping, accounting and finance work is carefully documented and reviewed, but it does not include an assurance or compilation engagement report.

Should I upload tax documents with the inquiry form?

No. The public form is only for initial contact. Please do not include a social insurance number, banking details, tax slips, returns or other sensitive records. A secure process will be arranged after the engagement is confirmed.

Tell me what needs to become clearer.

Share the situation at a high level. Jamieson CPA will review the request and follow up about fit, timing and the right next step.

Keep sensitive documents out of this form. Do not include a SIN, banking information, tax slips or copies of returns. Secure document exchange is arranged separately.

How should I follow up?
